Testimonials
We have used Ancient Paths Training as an integral part of our work in helping deprived communities develop the capacity to change their futures. We use Ancient Paths Training because they are able to challenge people's beliefs and prejudices in a unique and humorous way - they also provide musical entertainment which adds greatly to the enjoyment and success of our training programmes. We have found them to be very reliable and cost effective.

Ancient Paths Training is performing a range of cultural music and history workshops around the identity of people from Northern Ireland. This music often reflects working class areas of Belfast and Ulster as a whole. They tell the story of key moments in history which have had major effects on the people of Northern Ireland ie. The 1st and 2nd World War, the peace walls which have divided the Shankill / Falls, Patrick the Apostle of Ulster and Christianity. Their musicians use a wide range of musical instruments and interactive discussions to explore community thoughts and feelings and challenge myths and perceptions from both main traditions. I have found their music and history workshops to be unique and enlightening in the work they do with both young people and adults in the Greater Shankill.

Ancient Paths Training delivered an excellent course centred on British and Irish history, within Kilcooley Women’s Centre. As a first introduction to learning based on cultural identity, the participants found the content informative and enlightening. I have excellent feedback from the training delivered by Ancient Paths, the participants felt that the training delivered was pitched at the appropriate level and particularly well received. Ancient Paths Training has provided the organisation with a comprehensive, professional and quality training service that I can unreservedly recommend.
Alison Blaney, Centre Manager, Kilcooley Women’s Centre
Ancient Paths Training workshops have been an adventure for our members, both with and without disabilities. The workshops were delivered in a way that was both fun and educational and enjoyed by all.

Ancient Paths Training have facilitated a number of training courses for the Community Association. Cultural Awareness can be a sensitive topic, however we found the delivery techniques of the facilitator engaged all learners. We have successfully used this training provider to deliver training on British and Irish History and Cultural Awareness through Drums, which focused on the specific needs of our target group. Jackie Mc Arthur from Ancient Paths has also been involved in mentoring the Association in engaging young people in drama and also through intergenerational work through cultural awareness training. I have no hesitation in recommending Ancient Paths Training.

North Down Alternatives had the opportunity to work with Ancient Paths Training through our “Youth Intervention” project. This provided a learning experience for young people from Kilcooley to explore their cultural history via the medium of music .It was a pleasure to work with such knowledgeable and experienced professionals, who had the ability to engage these hard to reach learners. Ancient Paths had the ability to address an emotive subject with the appropriate balance. The experience of working with Ancient Paths Training has enabled the young people to make tangible and positive progress in their understanding of their culture.
